PART OF THE PLAN - THE DAN FOGELBERG MUSICAL - HAS ARRIVED
Tonight, the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) announced that the world premiere of the new American musical – PART OF THE PLAN – will open the Nashville theater’s 2017-18 Broadway Season this coming September! Finally, this new American musical featuring music and lyrics from Dan Fogelberg’s songbook will arrive on the stage in TPAC’s Polk Theater for 19 performances.
PART OF THE PLAN was written by KATE ATKINSON & KAREN HARRIS and is being directed by Tony Award-nominated LYNNE TAYLOR-CORBETT, with musical arrangements by Grammy Award-winning arranger VICTOR VANACORE and the Grammy Award-winning former lead guitarist for Paul McCartney’s WINGS, LAURENCE JUBER. The production features a talented mix of performers from Broadway, Los Angeles, and Nashville – including Broadway’s HARLEY JAY (“Rent”) and Nashville’s own J.T. HODGES.
Seamlessly interweaving Dan’s iconic music, PART OF THE PLAN follows the lives of an adopted boy and the teenaged girl of privilege who was forced to give him up, taking audiences through the post-World War II boom times, the social and sexual revolution of the 1960s, and the political upheaval of the 1970s, while exploring the theme that everything in life happens for a reason.
The show goes into previews on September 8th & 9th. The world premiere is on Sunday, September 10th and regular performances begin on Tuesday, September 12th -- Sunday, September 24th. Performances run Tuesday – Sunday evenings, with matiness on Saturday and Sunday. Stay tuned for announcements on ticket sales!
